Lynn's Story - 6 Stone Down & No More Clean Plate Club

Lynn's Story - 6 Stone Down & No More Clean Plate Club

I was always chubby as a child and teenager, puppy fat they called it. I came from a family of ‘larger people’ and was taught to always eat up your main and clear your plate or you won't get pudding, the clean plate club we call it.

After my first child, the weight started to increase and after my second the weight spiralled even more.  Before I started on this weight loss journey I felt like it would never happen, that I was just not one of those people who would never lose weight successfully. I had tried all the diets going, but with little success. I had gotten to the point where I was fed up with how I looked in my clothes and I was extremely self-conscious of my size.
One day a friend of mine in the Plymouth area was telling me how she had recently lost a lot of weight working with Alex.  I sent her a message asking about her programme and we got started. We zoom called each week for my one-to-one support sessions which were so invaluable and my supplies were posted directly to me.
The 1st week was difficult 'ish',  I was missing bread but after a slip-up after 5 days, I worked harder to plan my meals. I found the plan flexible being able to take bars to eat at work. Mostly I’m on 1000 - 1200 calories per day but occasionally I will do drop it down to 800 calories to mix it up a bit. But it is reassuring to know that it is completely nutritionally balanced.

It’s not easy as I have a long way to go but so far I have lost just over 4 and half stone. The benefits are certainly happening, people are noticing and saying how well I’m looking. I am happy being on this journey at a steady pace - it’s not a race after all.

One of the best things about being on this weight loss journey was when I took over 10 pairs of trousers to the local charity shop, some still with labels on as when I found some that fit I would buy multiples.  I’ve even felt confident enough to start looking at clothes in shops. Perhaps one of the most exciting non-scale victories is how I am able to do so much more and importantly take fewer painkillers for my arthritis.

I'm so glad I took the plunge to ring Alex and start this programme, if you are sitting there thinking it will never work for you then why not give it a go, the support and structure of the programme give you every chance of success. what have you got to lose?

Thank you for reading my story.
